1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Salva application (“App,” “Service,” or “Salva”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Anthony Mallah (“Developer,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

2. Description of Service

Salva is a parental screen-lock and household management application for Android devices that helps parents and caregivers protect their device screen from accidental touches by children, manage screen time, monitor on-screen content, and coordinate rules across multiple family devices. The App provides:

  • Screen protection modes (Free, Safe, Protected) via a floating shield overlay
  • Premium features including Ghost Mode, Screen Sentinel, Smart Rules, Screen Time Limits, Activity Reports, and other automation features
  • Household management for linking and managing multiple family devices through a Family Dashboard with Remote Control capabilities

Salva is designed for use by parents and caregivers — not by children directly. You are responsible for all use of the App on your devices.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account and use Salva. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.

If you are using Salva to manage a child’s device, you confirm that you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or that you have obtained consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian.

4. Account Registration

4.1 Authentication

Salva supports two authentication methods for parent accounts:

  • Google Sign-In — We receive your Google account email and display name via OAuth.
  • Email + Password — You create an account with your email and a password. Your password is bcrypt-hashed server-side by Supabase Auth and is never stored on-device.

No passwords are stored locally on your device regardless of which method you choose.

4.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and any devices associated with your Salva household. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

4.3 Household Management

When you create or join a household, you agree to:

  • Use the household feature only for managing your own family’s devices
  • Not add devices belonging to individuals outside your family without their explicit consent
  • Take responsibility for all actions performed on devices within your household

5. Subscription & Billing

5.1 Free Tier

Salva includes a Free tier that provides core screen protection features at no cost, with no ads.

5.2 Premium Subscription

Premium features are available through paid subscription plans:

  • Individual Monthly: $3.99/month (up to 2 devices)
  • Individual Annual: $24.99/year (up to 2 devices)
  • Family Monthly: $6.99/month (up to 6 devices)
  • Family Annual: $44.99/year (up to 6 devices)
  • Family+ Monthly: $9.99/month (up to 12 devices)
  • Family+ Annual: $69.99/year (up to 12 devices)

Prices are localized by Google Play and may vary by region.

5.3 Free Trial

All premium plans include a 7-day free trial, managed by the app. Only one trial is allowed per Google account. There is no automatic charge at trial end — when the trial expires, Salva reverts to the Free plan unless you actively choose a paid subscription.

5.4 Billing & Renewal

  • Subscriptions are billed through Google Play Billing
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play → Subscriptions

5.5 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Google Play in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. If you believe you were charged in error, please contact Google Play support.

6. Permitted Use

You agree to use Salva only for its intended purpose: protecting your device screen from accidental or unauthorized touches, managing screen time for children under your care, and monitoring content on devices you own or have authority over.

You agree not to:

  • Use Salva to monitor or control devices belonging to adults without their knowledge and consent
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the App
  • Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent any security or anti-abuse measures in the App
  • Use the App in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
  • Share, sell, or transfer your subscription to others
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse free trial offers

7. Accessibility Service Usage

Salva uses Android’s Accessibility Service to provide core functionality including:

  • Touch blocking and gesture interception
  • Content scanning (Screen Sentinel) for parental content monitoring
  • App-switch detection for Smart Rules and Auto-Protect
  • Hardware key interception in Protected Mode

By enabling the Accessibility Service for Salva, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • The Service has broad access to screen content and device interactions
  • All content scanning is performed entirely on-device — no raw screen text is transmitted to any server
  • Only category labels, app names, and short snippets (max 100 characters) are stored as content alerts
  • You are responsible for ensuring this use complies with applicable laws in your jurisdiction

8. Content Monitoring Disclaimer

8.1 Screen Sentinel

Screen Sentinel is a content monitoring tool designed to alert parents to potentially age-inappropriate content. It is not a comprehensive content filter and does not block or prevent access to any content.

Limitations:

  • Keyword-based detection may produce false positives or miss some content
  • It does not scan images, audio, or video — only on-screen text
  • Effectiveness depends on the language and context of content
  • It is a supplementary tool, not a replacement for active parental supervision

8.2 No Guarantee of Effectiveness

We do not guarantee that Salva will detect all inappropriate content or prevent all unauthorized device usage. Anti-bypass protection effectiveness varies by device manufacturer, Android version, and OEM customization.

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Key privacy principles:

  • No ads and no ad tracking
  • No third-party analytics
  • Content scanning is 100% on-device
  • Cloud-synced data is limited to what is necessary for household management
  • You can delete your data at any time through the in-app “Delete My Data” feature

10. Intellectual Property

10.1 Ownership

Salva, including its design, code, features, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Anthony Mallah. All rights not explicitly granted in these Terms are reserved.

10.2 License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms.

10.3 Trademarks

“Salva,” the Salva logo, and “Keeping little hands safe” are trademarks of Anthony Mallah. You may not use these marks without prior written consent.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF RESULTS.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; ALL TOUCH INPUTS WILL BE SUCCESSFULLY BLOCKED IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; THE APP WILL WORK IDENTICALLY ON ALL ANDROID DEVICES AND OEM CUSTOMIZATIONS; CONTENT MONITORING WILL DETECT ALL INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT; OR ANTI-BYPASS PROTECTION WILL PREVENT ALL ESCAPE METHODS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ANTHONY MALLAH BE LIABLE FOR ANY: INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES; DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE OR OTHER SOFTWARE; UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE THAT OCCURS DESPITE USING SALVA; FAILURE OF THE APP TO BLOCK ANY PARTICULAR TOUCH, GESTURE, OR ACTION; CONTENT THAT THE APP FAILS TO DETECT OR FLAG; OR ACCIDENTAL LOCKOUTS, EVEN THOUGH SALVA INCLUDES EMERGENCY UNLOCK MECHANISMS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Anthony Mallah from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from: your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or your use of the App to monitor devices without proper authority.

14. Device Compatibility

Salva requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or higher. While we strive for broad compatibility, we cannot guarantee full functionality on all Android devices due to OEM-specific modifications, manufacturer-specific battery optimization, custom gesture navigation, and Accessibility Service restrictions imposed by some manufacturers.

We provide an in-app Permission Setup Guide with OEM-specific instructions to help maximize compatibility.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device and canceling any active subscriptions through Google Play.

15.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior (e.g., device farming, stolen entitlements), your use poses a security risk to other users or our infrastructure, or as required by law.

15.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination: your license to use the App is revoked, your subscription (if any) will not be renewed, and you may request deletion of your cloud-stored data via the in-app “Delete My Data” feature or by contacting us at [email protected].

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top and may notify you through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Users accessing the Service from outside the UAE are responsible for compliance with their local laws.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any subscription terms presented at the time of purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and Anthony Mallah regarding the use of Salva.
